Palo Rosa – Colombia Sugar Decaf is a coffee we’re genuinely proud to share. Grown at around 1,600 meters in the hills of Planadas, Tolima, this lot comes from the Palo Rosa Estate, where careful farming and washed processing highlight the sweetness and balance Colombia is known for. It then moves through a trusted and local supply chain, long respected for producing some of the cleanest, most consistent specialty decafs available.
This coffee is decaffeinated using the natural sugarcane (EA) process, which gently removes caffeine while keeping the character of the coffee intact. By using ethyl acetate derived from fermented sugarcane and spring water, the process preserves sweetness, structure, and clarity, so the cup still tastes like great coffee first, not “decaf.”
In the cup, Palo Rosa is smooth, comforting, and quietly complex. Expect notes of chocolate, caramelized sugar, and honey, with a soft fruit sweetness and a rounded, satisfying body. It’s the kind of decaf you can enjoy any time of day thoughtful, approachable, and crafted with the same care as our fully caffeinated offerings

This fresh medium roast decaf makes a pretty balanced cup, though it feels a bit muted overall.
The acidity leans soft and rounded rather than bright. It hits early on the front of the tongue but doesn’t have much sharpness or lift, coming across more like a gentle sourness than a crisp tartness.
There’s a noticeable fruit sweetness, especially in the finish. It doesn’t fully come through in the middle of the sip, but it lingers nicely after you swallow.
The bitterness is mild but a little herbal—almost like Chinese medicinal herbs—rather than chocolatey or roasted. The body sits around medium and feels slightly dense, which makes the flavors blend together more than stand apart.
The finish is clean, with some lingering sweetness and a slight dryness at the back of the tongue.
Overall, it’s a solid and balanced decaf, but the flavors feel a bit subdued and less defined than I’d hope for.
Best decaf coffee I've had. None of the stale bitterness that usually defines decaf. Mellow, smooth. Yummy!
Big Shoulders decalf can't be beat.
I seldom write reviews, but this is by far the best Decaf I have ever tried. THANK YOU!
The Decaf Peru is smooth and tastes great. No burnt coffee harshness. We love it!
Tasty coffee
I like its clean and light taste.
