We’re always looking for coffees that carry both unmistakable flavor and a story to share. This lot from Ethiopia Natural – Kossa Geshe, Jimma Zone, Oromia delivers both.
Grown in the highlands of the Kebena Forest in Limmu Kossa, this coffee comes from producer Abdulwahid Sherif, whose work has quickly gained recognition. His 1,000-hectare farm, established to help protect one of the country’s last remaining dense forest regions, has, in less than ten years, risen to national and international acclaim. After taking over operations in 2016, Abdul’s coffees earned a Good Food Award just two years later, announcing the arrival of a standout producer from a region not traditionally in the spotlight.
What makes this coffee truly compelling goes beyond awards. Abdul has continually reinvested in both quality and community, expanding drying infrastructure, refining processing methods, and implementing meaningful worker support systems, including education initiatives and transparent wages. It’s a level of care that shows up clearly in the cup.
Processed naturally and grown at 1,800 meters, this lot is composed of classic Ethiopian varieties (74110, 74140, 74112, and 74166), delivering a vibrant and layered profile. Expect a fruit-forward experience with notes of ripe strawberry and cherry, balanced by deeper tones of plum and dark chocolate, with a subtle lift of ginger on the finish.
Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee, and its coffees remain among the most expressive in the world. Ethiopia Natural – Kossa Geshe, Jimma Zone, Oromia is a reminder of why, offering both a vivid sense of place and the unmistakable imprint of a producer dedicated to pushing quality forward. We’re excited to bring Abdul’s coffee back into our lineup.

No surprise, Big Shoulders Coffee you delivered once again a consistent roast that promotes the qualities of a high quality coffee bean. Thank you!
Love this coffee. It grinds a little coarse, so its easy to burn through a ton of it if your grinder is not dialed in. But it is so yummy, and not too acidic. Great stuff.
Ethiopia Sidamo Guji
Not much flavor. I think I’ll stick with bold slugger
Great coffee from my favorite region of beans! Highly recommend
This coffee is my go to. I’ve been a subscriber for a few years and their consistency has been excellent.
The taste is smooth and very light.... which is the problem for me. I've had other Ethiopian blends of coffee and those were intense and bold which is what I was expecting. So really my rating may be unfair considering I based it on my expectations and not its taste.
